Italian Program

Italian Studies at Emory University

Italian Studies is an interdisciplinary program based in the the Department of French and Italian with academic links to several other Emory College departments.

Majors and Minors in Italian:

The program offers an interdisciplinary major focusing on the study of Italy from various perspectives: literary, cultural, historical, artistic, philosophical, and political. While successfully completing the required courses in Italian language, cultural studies, and literature, students are encouraged to take courses in other departments taught by faculty members of the Italian Studies at Emory.
In addition to a major in Italian Studies, the program also offers a minor in either Italian language or Italian Studies. We currently have a number of students who are Italian majors and Italian minors.
Language acquisition is successfully achieved through the innovative I.V.C. Chiavi di Lettura method.
